your new favorite top. seriously.

i get completely obsessed with items of clothing, once i find a piece i like, i'll wear it to death.  like, to the point where my friends will say, "no, i don't think you should wear the camo jacket again..." ha!  well, i have a new obsession. this BP top by Lush is perfect for work with dress pants, great tucked into a skirt and ideal for going out in skinny jeans and boots. it's just $34, comes in lots of colors, and is aptly named the perfect tee. you're welcome! xo, k

Jean love :: DL1961

I bought a pair of DL1961 jeans recently and they are so rad! They are slightly higher rise, which I like, they're a good ankle length, perfect for wearing booties and they literally do not stretch out at all. Buy 'em how you want them to fit. Plus as denim prices continue to skyrocket, I think their prices are fairly reasonable, too.

Smells like Nordstrom...

Have you all noticed that every Nordstrom smells the same when you first walk through the doors? I don't know if it's an intentional air freshener or if it's just the combination of fragrance and new clothes and shoes, but I love it.

Are you going to the Anniversary Sale? I know people get sooooo excited about it, but to be honest the very last thing I want to do right now is buy fall clothes! I feel like summer just started. We did see a few things in the catalog that caught our eye, though . . . see below.

Cute workout clothes motivate!

Loving big sweaters with slim pants.

We'll take one of each!

Love the rose-gold tone!

Kinda glamorous, right?

Practically Stolen :: Mother/JBrand

I've been in desperate need of new jeans lately. Everything in my closet is either too big, too small . . . or just too old. I planned on splurging and just getting a pair I love, but I always feel guilty not at least looking for a pair on sale first. Lo and behold, I found two super hot pairs at the Rack that were marked "Altered or Refinished" and they happened to fit me just right and the exact pairs are being sold at Nordstrom right now (I checked.)!

The moral of this story? One woman's poorly altered clothes are another woman's treasure.

Loooooove these flares by Mother.

These mid-rise skinnies by JBrand are amazing.

Sweet shades.

I'm sure you've all heard . . . TOMS has launched an eyewear line and they're super cute and affordable. True to their one for one model and with three classic, flattering styles available, I'm sure these shades' popularity will be no different than their shoes, so get 'em while you can.

Speaking of which, have you tried to get a pair of the wedges in your size and fave color?! The sales girls look at you like you didn't get the memo. "Uh, (haha), nooooo, we can't keep those in stock...", she said with a look like she kind of felt sorry for me.

Anyway, go Toms! Keep up the good work!

things we love, that you should love...

Happy Friday! We're going to do a recurring post called things we love, that you should love, because that's kind of how this blog started! We were constantly e-mailing each other about things we bought or found that the other one should check out! Enjoy!

K: I just found this wax for brows and I totally love it!

T: my friend katie got me into this stuff --- it's SOOO yummy in smoothies!

K: I love this blazer by Gibson. I literally throw it on over everything - great purchase!

T: a while back when i was buying some pink lipstick at mac, the mac girl convinced me i needed this stuff... i'm so happy she did, because this stuff rules! keeps your lips bright all night & no smudges or pink/red teeth!

K: It's neurotic, but I honestly buy one of these tanks every time I go to Target. I sleep in them, workout in them and layer them under aforementioned black blazer. They're the best!

T: i'm a nail polish nut... and i'm loving this brand because of their "3 free" polish.  no formaldehyde. no toluene. no DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). they also seem to come up with the most amazing colors! my new fav is the color above - artful dodger

Silky!

Can we talk for a minute about how rad Nordstrom's house lines Trouve and Hinge are?! I love almost everything they make and it's relatively affordable. I'm currently obsessed with all things silk, especially these little jackets. Portland is almost never warm enough to go out without some sort of coat on, and these are absolutely perfect for spring/summer.

This one is my fave! It's super cute on, too.

I need your opinion...

It's no secret that I am on a quest for perfect skin . . . or at least happy skin. I am very tempted to head over to Nordstrom at lunch today to purchase a Clarisonic and would love to hear any positive/negative feedback. Has anyone tried it? I've heard mostly great things! What about the inexpensive version by Olay? LMK!

PS: If you live in Portland, you absolutely must call Lenor B and schedule a facial. She is seriously amazing and super inexpensive. Plus, you can text her for appointments, which is always a plus for me. :)

Ms. Trump

Saw the cut-out pumps on the sales girl at Nordstrom last weekend and I fell in love. She paired them with a pair of slouchy boyfriend pants in black, a baggy mens sweater and big Chanel sunglasses she turned into eyeglasses. Loved the whole look. Not only are these pumps reasonably priced, but as my new fashionable friend in Woman's Shoes pointed out, you can tell they were designed by a woman who wears heels - super comf with extra padding in the toe.
I definitely don't love everything from Ivanka's line, but here are a couple of standouts - - I'm sure there will be more to come.

It's still summer, right?

I don't know about you, but I just can't bring myself to buy clothes for fall, quite yet. It's drizzly and cloudy here in Portland, but I feel like I'm still waiting for summer to start! While everyone else is taking full advantage of the sale (and I mean the Nordstrom sale... naturally), I'm just not ready to buy sweaters and boots, I want more summer clothes! Speaking of which, I'm obsessed with this dress by C&C. It seems like every brand is making a t-shirt in this super soft, vintage-y tri-blend fabric and I'm loving it even more in a dress. Maybe this could transition? Flip flops now, leggings and boots later? What do you think?

BTW - I asked my designer/friend here at work to help me convert these images on his Mac and this is what his response was along with the attachments:
"Wow, $78 for an ill-fitting dress made out of t-shirt material...what a deal! I love that it looks like a fat person pre-stretched it out for you...how ironic! ;-)"

This is a different post, for a different day, but I think it's so interesting to think about those who dress for guys versus those who dress for girls. It's definitely a different style, don't you agree? :)
