Ms. Trump

Saw the cut-out pumps on the sales girl at Nordstrom last weekend and I fell in love. She paired them with a pair of slouchy boyfriend pants in black, a baggy mens sweater and big Chanel sunglasses she turned into eyeglasses. Loved the whole look. Not only are these pumps reasonably priced, but as my new fashionable friend in Woman's Shoes pointed out, you can tell they were designed by a woman who wears heels - super comf with extra padding in the toe.
I definitely don't love everything from Ivanka's line, but here are a couple of standouts - - I'm sure there will be more to come.

Spring?

Saturday, spring officially begins. Although, according to my itchy eyes and crazy sneezing attacks, it began about two weeks ago.

Here's my question. What should one wear in cities that require "transition" clothes? My usual rule is no open toed shoes or sandals before spring (it just looks silly) and after March 21st, no tights, wool coats or boots (again, silly). And although it's supposed to get close to 70 degrees this weekend (um, yay!), the rain will be back come Monday.

It seems like the rules have changed in fashion and anything goes these days, with open-toed booties, tights with sandals, floral dresses with coats and tights and, my personal favorite, leggings, which are perfect no matter the weather!

Is the key just layers and layers of spring-y attire? Here are some outfits that might work, but I'd love to hear your opinions on what's weather/season appropriate and what you think people can and can't get away with.

Here's Maggie Gyllenhal with boots and bare legs. You like?

Miss Moss looks pretty spring-tastic, but still appropriately warm, right?
PS: Love this site.

More bare legs with boots. Found this cute dress on Bliss!

This look goes back to one of Taryn's posts about loving jean shorts with tights. Seems like the perfect time of year for me to try out this trend!

Happy St. Patty's Day, people!

Oh Gwyneth.

Does anyone else subscribe to GOOP? You should! It's Gwyneth Paltrow's "blog" or e-mail blast and it's pretty awesome. She gives recipes, fashion tips, travel tips, etc. I'm loving the last post she did. She shows some of her favorite outfits from a cool store she stumbled upon and then tells how to re-create the looks for less, but if you look closely, it's actually Gwyneth in the photos, in the dressing room, which for some reason is so cool to me!

I like the floral dress with the black blazer.
I heart Gwyneth!
Happy Monday!

Practically stolen: Gucci Flats

I love a good deal. I think even if I had limitless amounts of money, I'd still scour the rounders at the Rack every weekend . . . it's like an adult treasure hunt for me. I have the patience, the time and let's face it...shopping is my only real hobby besides wining, dining and the occasional workout (necessary due to the wining and dining). I'm obsessed with checking out sites like Hautelook, Ideeli, Billion Dollar Babes and Shopittome, but there's nothing like a trip to the Nordstrom Rack (or Off 5th or Loehmanns or the Barneys Outlet, if you're lucky enough to live in cities with these stores! I'm not.)

A few months ago I scored these Gucci flats, originally $400 for....$79.

Yes, I know. I have a gift. Happy Friday everyone!
