Tunes I Love Tuesday :: The Lumineers @ the Woods

I saw this band last weekend at the coolest venue called The Woods. This former funeral home, circa 1929, is a super rad (small) place to see to see a show . . . there's a couple of rooms with bars and an outside area with ping pong tables - you kinda feel like you're seeing a show at a house party.

The Lumineers rocked! This Colorado band has a similar sound to the Head and the Heart (which is pretty much my fave band right now) and they attract a super energetic crowd, which is always fun. My friends and I all agreed that we were lucky to see them at such a small spot because we have a feeling that they are going to be big soon!

p.s. - we had the BEST time last night at the head and the heart show at the casbah! wow... they are amazing live! and the best part was that we got to meet and chat with one of the singers, jon after - it made krissy's b-day! ;)

The Head and the Heart: Part 2

I know it's not cool to post about something that I just posted about two days ago, but can I just tell you how rad this show was?!? The lead singer is smokin' hot and I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I've seen in a long, long time. I have a feeling you we won't be able to see these guys at such a small venue for much longer, so seriously, buy tix while you can. Here's a video and a photo from the show last night, taken by Via... they brought all of the opening bands on the stage for a couple of songs and it was just super fun to watch!

Tunes I Love Tuesday :: The Head and the Heart

Once upon a time, I was up on all of the new bands and I listened to really "cool" music (which is actually how my fabulous co-blogger and I first started hanging out, we both loved going to shows!), but somehow I've recently become one of those people who just listens to whatever they play on the radio. I really want to get back into good music and luckily my good friend Via is the one to help. She is always telling me about bands I've never heard of that are super rad. I'm going to see the Seattle band, The Head and the Heart with her on Wednesday at the Doug Fir and after listening to them for five minutes, I had to share. She says they're the next big thing and I believe her. SO good.
