Embracing fall...

As much as I love the changing leaves, I always feel a little anxious when fall starts. I think it goes back to starting a new school year and finding out which teachers you have and which cute boy is in your class and of course, what to wear on the first day of school. This paired with the darker mornings and cooler weather just always leaves me with butterflies in my stomach!

I've decided to approach this fall, however, as sort of a "new year"... a chance to set some goals and make some resolutions. Here are a few:

1. Keep a clean home - is it that hard to fold laundry when it's done drying?!

2. Major closet editing - if I haven't worn it in 12 months . . . or 36 months, it's probably safe to donate or sell.

3. Invest in fall staples and refrain from purchasing every random top on sale I find.

4. Learn to cook - it just isn't appropriate at age 30 to get completely stressed when asked to bring a dish to a potluck.

5. Get an early start on handmade holiday gifts. Every year around Dec. 20th, I come up with something awesome I could've made. :)
Happy first day of school, folks!

  2. fall is definitely a good starting point for some changes...not so many fun distractions, like the beach!

  3. I love this! The back to school mentality is the best for a fresh start in my opinion.

Every single goal of yours should be added to my list... but I know the clean apartment thing will be a life long quest (or quest to be able to have a cleaning lady!).

  4. If you need any recipes, I'd be happy to send some! I always think of the fall as the beginning of a new year too. I do need to make my list as well.
