I rented this film last night (an employee recommendation at Videorama, which I think is the last video store in Portland**) and I totally loved it! I'm a sucker for quirky, feel-good movies with really great soundtracks! And Happythankyoumoreplease is all of these things + a rad title. Check it out!
**Does anyone else miss actually going to the video store instead of ordering them online or Ondemand? It's way more convenient, don't get me wrong, but I still love physically going to the store and looking at all of the cases. The little store by my house just closed and the owner once told me that she sees 500 movies every year, so it was awesome to get recommendations from her, if I liked something, she always had others she could almost guarantee I would like. Support your local businesses! Just sayin'.
I loved Taryn's NY resolution to see all of the films up for awards . . . I always end up seeing them later and I think it's a great goal to see everything beforehand...there's just one problem: I'm still waiting for some of these to come to a "theater near me". Two movies I am dying to see are Blue Valentine and Somewhere.
Did you hear Blue Valentine originally got an NC-17 rating? I've heard it's wayyyy depressing, but I'm always attracted to movies that attempt to portray a "real" relationship, no matter how ugly it can be. I'm intrigued, for sure. Here's a quote from Michelle Williams that definitely poses a good question:

I haven't heard much about Somewhere, but I love all of Sophia Coppola's movies, so I'm very anxious to see this...plus all of the music is by Phoenix. How can it not be rad?
What else do we absolutely need to see? Have any of you seen either of these films?
so i can't remember the last time i was this excited to see a movie! i'm dying to see christina take the big screen... and i just know she's going to be amazing! and with cher & the rest of the amazing crew!
lots of eye candy with eric dane and cam gigandet.... and on top of that one of my favs, kristen bell!
