I despise the mall. I typically park right outside of Nordstrom or Macy's and rarely venture past those doors, unless it's a quick trip to F21 or Jcrew . . . and that's only on weekdays after work. I just can't do the mall crowds on weekends, too many kiosks, too many strollers. With the holidays apparently approaching, it's only going to get worse. A new discovery, however, might just lead me into the madness more often! A little over a month ago, I "needed" some new, cheap clothes and was making my way to F21 when I saw it: Aritzia
Started in 1984 Aritzia is the #1 retailer in Canada and has recently made it's way to the States. Sadly, there's no online shopping and unfortunately for my SoCal counterpart, the closest one is in SF, but rest assured, they are slowly popping up everywhere. My guess is that LA is next on the list. (For now, it's a great excuse to visit Portland!)
They have a little of everything. Organic bamboo tunics, oversized 80's inspired cashmere sweaters and cardigans, silk dresses and basic leggings and hoodies. I love that they carry a few labels I've personally never heard of, including: Community, Wilfred, Talula & TNA. These paired with tried and true denim like Current/Elliot, 7 For All Mankind and J Brand, makes for a great shop. I'll admit, it's not cheap, but there are some affordable items. And anyone who knows me knows I love a good sale rack, which Aritzia does NOT have. However, they do a few annual sales where goods go as low as 70% off and the always-friendly sales ladies have already agreed to let me pre-shop before their big Black Friday sale. Who knew a store so fab could be hiding in Washington Square mall? I want to see them succeed, so show some love!
Here are a few looks I'm loving from their Fall/Winter lookbook:
I love this Wilfred velvet dress paired with cashmere socks.
Another cute dress by Wilfred.
Oversized tee and Alpaca cardigan by Wilfred . . . with cashmere socks of course!
Love, love, love these floral leggings by Talula.
Sweater dress by Talula with striped tights. Too cute.
i wish they had one down in sd! we're the last to get anything... i want to go next time i'm up there! :)
ReplyDeleteYou should come up to Canada to shop at Aritzia. Generally speaking, the inventory varies. I know that where I live (Vancouver), going to Metrotown and the Robson location are going to 2 different but equally fashionable shops. I have gone to the Belleview location near Seattle before but the variety is not up to what it is like in Canada. The annual Aritzia warehouse sale is always amazing but you have to be there on the first day before all the good stuff sells out.
ReplyDeleteOooh, very good to know - - Canada here I come! I was just at the Portland store today and snatched up a few great pieces on sale! So much to choose from...
