Summer, finally!

Happy summer, friends! The sun is trying to break through here in Portland and it is about time. I think my single favorite thing about the NW is how late it stays light/warm in the summer. I swear it didn't get dark last night until almost 10:00. Who wants to come visit!?

When the weather gets nice, there's truly nothing better than sitting outside chatting with good friends, sipping on a glass of Rose or my personal favorite summer beverage - - a red wine spritzer. I know Taryn has her own favorite recipe (share, please!), but here's mine.

Red Wine spritzer

2/3 red wine

1/3 chilled sparkling water

Wedge of lime

Also, how totally rad are these? I've yet to try the wine, but I'm loving the concept. They're individually sized, unbreakable, portable glasses! Perfect for a picnic, afternoon at the beach . . . dare I say . . . a movie?! Man, these almost make imbibing too convenient! I believe they're only available in the NW, as of now, but that's just another good reason to plan that trip . . . or just put a request in to your local wine shop! xo

Loving my girlfriends...

I've been thinking lately about how totally lucky I am to have such fabulous girlfriends. From my trip to San Diego where I got to see some of my favorite ladies to several awesome evenings recently where the wine and conversation was flowing.

I mean, boyfriends can be fun and husbands...amazing, especially when you have the right guy. But sometimes I think as long as I have really great girlfriends, the boys can just be the icing on the cake.

coffee, friends, blogs, & color...

hello! happy tuesday... :)

hope everyone is doing well... 

i had a fabulous time this past saturday meeting up with some local blog friends! 

brandi, shelby, haydee, heather, and i all met up for coffee at the pannikin. A few of us had never met.... so it was so awesome to put a face to the blogs we've been reading! The 5 of us had the most amazing & interesting conversations. we ended up sitting there for 3 hours talking about everything! it was so awesome to meet such a smart & unique group of girls... so inspiring!

Blog Girls Unite!

Not to keep rubbing it in, but I was lucky enough to go to San Diego this weekend for a mini vacay and have the sunburn to show for it (my co-workers do NOT feel bad for me!). It was a fabulous weekend and one of the best parts was getting to catch up with old friends! The lovely ladies behind Happenstance and San Diego Songbirds, met Taryn and I at El Callejon in Encinitas for some margs, chips, guac and blog talk. If you aren't already a follower, run don't walk to these blogs. These ladies are fun, smart, hot and have their fingers on the pulse!
