practically stolen :: pendleton sale!

this weekend i went to a major sale at the pendleton store in PDX, and while i didn't buy anything, i was definitely drooling over a few pieces. i looked online and it looks like they have the same prices here! my fave was this long sweater dress with a low back - $630 down to $189.

Sseko Designs

How rad are these sandals by Sseko Designs found at EcoVibe Apparel in Portland? You can tie them a million different ways and the straps are interchangeable! PLUS, they're made from locally sourced materials and handcrafted by women in Uganda as a means to help them fund their university education. You can buy them online for around $50 and then it's a whopping $8 to change out the color with new straps! Love it!

PDX trip!

Last month Miss B and Hustle reunited in PDX along with our good friend, Doug and we seriously had the BEST weekend ever. There's really nothing like a weekend where all you do is eat, drink, shop and go to one cool place after another with your favorite people. I seriously don't think we stopped laughing once!

Summary: Por Que No for horchata, Mississippi street, Zeus Cafe for Rubinators, Powells, Portland City Grill for the view, Toro Bravo, Clyde Common, Mary's (oh boy), Tin Shed, Hangover II, Ringlers for more Rubinators, the Pearl District, Hubers for Spanish coffees, Noah and the Whale show at the Doug Fir, Sizzle Pie for pizza and one final drink at Rontoms. Then T and I headed down to wine country for a girls day at Archery Summit and Stoller Vineyards and ended the weekend at the Farm Cafe for happy hour.

Does reading this wear you out . . . or just really make you want to hang out with us?! We're kinda fun! :)

T takes the best photos!

Portlandia...

Have you all seen the previews of this show coming to IFC? It's a spoof on Portland and the trailers I've seen have been spot ON.

Watch these trailers... they are hilarious! Portland truly is "the place where young people go to retire."

PS: At the end of the second clip, they're fighting over the magazine I work for!!

H&M joins us...finally.

H & M finally opened it's doors in Portland and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I think you could actually hear a collective "finally" uttered by fashionistas around town. I mean, F21 is rad, but we needed another option! There were literally kids on the street camping out overnight to be the first ones in. (It doesn't hurt that the first 200 people in got a gift card between $10-$300!)

Luckily, because my job is kinda rad sometimes and I have a few friends who "know people". I got on the VIP guest list for the party the night before! Free drinks, food and "one night only" discounts + 25% off! Of course, the few things I purchased don't fit and will be going back soon, but it was SUPER fun. Here's a pic of me and two of my favorite friends, Paige and Kevin on the red carpet!
PS: Kevin is also known as Poison Waters , Portland's most famous drag queen. She can be found at Darcelle's on Friday and Saturday nights! Check her out if you ever get the chance, she's absolutely amazing. (Kevin's pretty darn fantastic too!)

Happy Friday, friends! xoxo

Going green with goats.

How awesome and totally Portland is this? I love that they're using goats to clear an abandoned lot of weeds! This is super close to downtown!

Summer, finally!

Happy summer, friends! The sun is trying to break through here in Portland and it is about time. I think my single favorite thing about the NW is how late it stays light/warm in the summer. I swear it didn't get dark last night until almost 10:00. Who wants to come visit!?

When the weather gets nice, there's truly nothing better than sitting outside chatting with good friends, sipping on a glass of Rose or my personal favorite summer beverage - - a red wine spritzer. I know Taryn has her own favorite recipe (share, please!), but here's mine.

Red Wine spritzer

2/3 red wine

1/3 chilled sparkling water

Wedge of lime

Also, how totally rad are these? I've yet to try the wine, but I'm loving the concept. They're individually sized, unbreakable, portable glasses! Perfect for a picnic, afternoon at the beach . . . dare I say . . . a movie?! Man, these almost make imbibing too convenient! I believe they're only available in the NW, as of now, but that's just another good reason to plan that trip . . . or just put a request in to your local wine shop! xo
